Annual Travel Insurance Policies

According to a recent survey by Datamonitor more Britons are applying for Annual Travel Insurance. Britons seem to be taking more flights than in any previous year and it seems that concerns about the environment are not such a big priority.

The increase in travel has been accompanied by a 1.4% rise in growth for the travel insurance market. The report's author Andrew Haslip commented: "The UK travel insurance market continues to benefit from the desire of the British public to travel abroad."

Reasons for the increase in travel include more people travelling to see family and friends abroad and also the simple fact that some of us are not refreshed by just one holiday a year. Research conducted prior to the Datamonitor survey showed that many of us will take more than one holiday a year and 11% of us will take an incredible 5 or more breaks in a year.

For a nation of frequent flyers annual travel insurance does make a lot of sense. The majority of annual travel insurance deals will cover you for an unlimited number of trips. It may also prove to be a better choice if you only plan to take two trips in a year as the policy may still work out cheaper than two single trip policies. Not having to think about travel insurance is another big benefit of getting an annual policy. Once you have got it you don’t have to worry about travel insurance until the following year.
